Description

Responsibilities:
This position serves as the IT department's Solution Architect that provides strategic coordination and tactical governance, and the ability to dive deeply into technology issues. The Solution Architect partners with technical and business groups to ensure that IT system performance standards adhere to enterprise service level agreements; advises the IT management of technology trends and best practices and functional initiatives; provides subject matter expertise across technology/functions to drive implementation of technology strategy and roadmap directions; and works with technical leads in designing and implementing applications Position serves as a leader in the conception, development and implementation of system strategies. Responsibilities include leading the software evaluation, acquisition, management and maintenance process, as well as vendor management of strategic enterprise vendor relationships and associated services. As a member of technology leadership, develops and implements global enterprise technology strategy company-wide to optimize business practices and IT solutions offerings through leveraging technology that facilitate operational efficiency or cost improvements to generate business value for Company.
Responsibilities:
• Provides analytical and systems expertise in a broad range of disciplines to support the design, installation and maintenance of technology solutions across the enterprise to fulfill business needs.
• Provides consulting and technical support to IT initiatives working as the primary technical liaison between business areas and the IT team
• Works closely across all areas of the IT department, to execute enterprise architecture strategies to optimize the technical architecture for Company, across all IT areas.
• Analyzes industry, technology and market trends to determine their potential impacts on the enterprise
• Develops and facilitates strategies in the area of system, data and application integration, ensuring that interfaces are properly identified, designed, and implemented.
• Participates in the holistic solution definition across all architecture domains
• Leads and facilitates the creation of governing principles to guide application solution decision making for the enterprise
• Has a deep understanding of Application Lifecycle Development and strong SDLC skills
• Position requires deep understanding of Serialization Track and Trace Solutions in the Pharmaceutical industry. Significant experience in Supply Chain Visibility, Track and Trace and Compliance Solutions. Knowledge of EPCIS, GS1 US Pharma Implementation Guide, GS1 Barcodes, EPC Tag Data, EPC Global Gen2 RFID, EPC Global Application Level Event, EPC Global Pedigree, Warehousing Edge systems, US Department of Defense Suppliers' Passive RFID Information Guide Knowledge of Compliance Requirements for US DSCSA/DQSA
• Possess strong programming background in Java/ J2EE and other object oriented programming languages. Knowledge on scripting languages a plus (PERL, ANT, PYTHON/JYTHON etc.). Expertise in HTML , CSS , JavaScript, JQuery, JSON , and common JavaScript patterns
• Advanced SQL skills
• Deep understanding of SOA solutions using web services ( REST / SOAP ) and other integration technologies
• Leads the identification and analysis of enterprise business drivers to derive enterprise business, information, technical and solution architecture requirements
• Oversees the documentation of all architecture design and analysis work.
• Works collaboratively across the enterprise to build a roadmap defining how the organization will migrate to the envisioned future state architecture over time
• Participates in architectural efforts, at all levels, and assesses project architecture for improvements based on lessons learned from implementation projects
• Reviews current system integration strategies and recommends enhancement and improvement, document and relate lessons learned from practical application to update strategic reference architecture by recognizing areas where existing architecture, policies and guidelines require change, or where new ones need to be developed to account for business or technology gaps
• Evaluates new software and hardware to determine usefulness and compatibility with existing software and hardware
• Demonstrated systems-level troubleshooting and performance tuning ability
• Ability to articulate and communicate complex ideas clearly
• Comprehensive knowledge of database technology, software technology, systems analysis, research techniques, systems development standards, quality and cost controls
• Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning, Warehouse Management systems, EDI, Serialization solution a plus.



Qualifications

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
• 7+ years IT architecture experience in hardware and software architecture planning, design and security that includes the following:
• 2+ years of experience with Life Science Product Serialization solutions and global regulatory requirements
• Management of large-scale, application analysis, design, development and integration projects
• Extensive working experience and internal implementation details of web and application servers including Apache/Tomcat
• Experience working with global manufacturing companies, implementing enterprise solutions and/or platforms leveraged across multiple geographic regions.
• Innovative - ability to think outside the box.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to quickly adapt and gain proficiency on new technologies, commercial off the shelf packaged applications (COTS)
• Demonstrated success developing and deploying IT enterprise architecture strategies that deliver measurable business benefits, in a cost effective manner.
• Problem solver through first validating business needs / opportunities / impacts / risks - including process or organization change impacts; and then enhancing with technology-based solutions.
• Proficient knowledge across multiple IT disciplines (below), with prior Applications experience. ­
APPLICATIONS: client-server, cloud computing, collaboration, ERP, manufacturing systems / devices (RFID / scanners, bar coding, etc.), data warehousing / analytics, hosted solutions. ­
PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Large scale global solution deployments, IT methodology (ITIL, PMI, SDLC), including change management components. ­
PCs / HAND-HELD DEVICES: Windows PCs, VDI, hand-held / smart and associated systems software including the operating systems and related security administration tools. ­
SECURITY: Application security, authentication principles, local and wide area networks, MS networks and Active Directory/LDAP, wireless networking, cloud computing, remote access solutions, internet firewalls / security, e-mail systems, database, intrusion detection. ­
NETWORK: Voice / data, telecommunications, hardware, systems software, data center, Internet and elated protocols, and performance monitoring tools. ­
DATA CENTER / OPERATIONS: High availability platforms, data center operations, enterprise data storage/backup/recovery systems, virtualization, and performance monitoring agents.
• Experience with international organizations with diverse cultures, business operations and organization needs. Foreign language proficiency is a plus.
